I have been doing this for a long time but today my friend told me that I shouldn’t go to cardio today because I did pilates yesterday. But I have read that you can’t just do pilates to lose weight and that you need to do cardio too. She said something about if I don’t take a break today then I won’t build muscle and I will break my body. Is this true?

I really don’t think so. As long as you feel up to exercising you should go for it. Let you body tell you when or when not to exercise, not your friends. Hope I’ve helped.

Obliques with Small Ball is a variation of the original Pilates exercise “Obliques” (or “Criss-Cross” as it is sometimes called). Adding the small ball under the back increases the instability of the exercise, thus increasing the challenge to the core. I go to a pilates class at our gym and am wondering what type of poses I should modify since I am pregnant. Thank you!!

I try to workout at least 3 days a week, do cardio 2 days, and rest the other 2 (try to get 2 rest days, b/c I work shift work). I was wondering how and when should I add pilates where it’ll benefit me the most?

I would start by adding 10 or 15 minutes after your cardio workouts. The nice thing about doing pilates after cardio is that you will not only get the benefits of toning and strengthening, but you will also get a nice stretch after you did your cardio.
